What does your Desk say about you?mooidev
The Cluttered Desk
This desk always has missing stationery, a leaning tower of papers and maybe even some of last week’s lunch. They never seem to throw anything away.
Sound familiar? Having a messy desk may sound bad, but in fact, it’s not necessarily true.
The Cluttered desk shows an interactive, popular worker who is outgoing and confident. They are extroverted and extremely welcoming to their fellow co-workers. It is said that the cluttered desk is more creative than their fellow tidier co-workers.
The Minimalist Desk
At the other end of the spectrum are the Minimalist desks, which always have a tidy, mess-free workstation. You won’t find much on these desks apart from the bare essentials such as keyboard, mouse and monitor.
Even though it may look in need of a little jazzing up, the Minimalists are hardworking and reliable individuals who thrive in planning and structure in their work.
The Techie Desk
In need of an iPhone charger? The Techie is the go-to man. Every office needs someone who’s a whizz with all the latest gadgets.
Their desk may be similar to their fellow cluttered colleagues. But these people are creative, friendly and eager to experiment. They are also curious and like to do things in their own time.
The Personalised Desk
This person’s desk basically becomes a scaled-down version of their home, which again isn’t surprising given how long we spend at work. They always have their own mug, framed photos of family and usually, a plant on their desk.
The more personalised items, the more they are comfortable in their job and less likely to leave. They are quirky and creative individuals who are open to new opportunities and ideas.
